Yakym Praises Trump Administration’s $120 Million Investment in Rural Hoosier Health Care

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) today praised the Trump administration for awarding Indiana $120 million through the Rural Health Transformation Program,

“President Trump and Republicans delivered for rural America when every single Democrat voted against investing $50 billion in rural communities through the Rural Health Transformation Program,” said Rep. Yakym. “And now $120 million is coming home to Indiana to strengthen our rural health workforce and bring care closer to the Hoosiers who need it. I regularly hear that cost, quality, and access to healthcare are front of mind for Hoosier and these funds are critical to addressing those concerns.”

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) award will fund Indiana’s Grow Rural Opportunities for Well-being (GROW) Regional Grants, supporting locally driven efforts across rural Indiana to expand access to high-quality care, strengthen the rural healthcare workforce, improve prevention and chronic disease management, and advance technology-enabled care. Background:

• In September 2025, Yakym led nine members of the Indiana delegation in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz urging maximum funding for Indiana under the newly created Rural Health Transformation Program. 
• The program was created by the Working Families Tax Cuts — a historic $50 billion investment to transform how healthcare is delivered in rural America.
