Growing Jobs and Wages
The Second District is the manufacturing capital of North America. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I'm fighting for a tax code that rewards building in America and a trade policy that puts Hoosier workers first, so your paycheck goes further than it did last year and we keep jobs where they belong, in Indiana.
Here's how I've fought for Hoosier workers:
- Voted for the largest tax cut in American history, which put $3,037 back in the average Hoosier's pocket
- Fought for the manufacturing provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, protecting 122,000 Indiana manufacturing jobs and allowing employers to deduct new equipment, machinery, and factories
- Wrote the bill to cut taxes on boats and RVs, extending the Working Families Tax Cuts Act's no-tax-on-auto-loans provision to the products our district builds
