Supporting the Family

Every kid deserves a safe home and a shot at a good life. Whether a child is in danger or a family is struggling to put dinner on the table, someone ought to be in their corner. In Congress, I've focused on the kids most likely to fall through the cracks.

That's why I've:

  • Expanded and made permanent tax cuts to keep more money in the pockets of Hoosier families, including the standard deduction, the Child Tax Credit, childcare tax credits, and no tax on tips, overtime, and auto loans
  • Fought for kids in foster care by writing legislation to help children transiting out of care
  • Authored the HAILEY Act to expand AMBER Alerts and bring missing kids home faster
  • Backed local food pantries with legislation to support the churches and volunteers feeding Hoosier families
