Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) issued the following statement after voting in favor of a resolution condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s brazen violation of U.S. sovereignty with their spy balloon:

“The Chinese Communist Party is by far the greatest foreign threat to our liberty and security in the 21st Century. They cheat on trade. They steal our technology. They poison our communities with fentanyl. They are taking aim at our culture and our kids. And as we just saw, they openly spy on us.

“Meeting this once-in-a-generation challenge will take a united front from both Republicans and Democrats. I am glad we passed today’s resolution condemning the CCP’s incursion of our sovereignty on a strong, bipartisan basis. Going forward Congress must continue to stand firm in the face of China’s increased aggression.”
