Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) issued the following statement after voting for H.R. 8369, the Israel Security Assistance Support Act. This legislation condemns the Biden Administration’s dangerous hold on arms delivery to Israel, urges the swift delivery of Congressionally approved defense articles and weapons, withholds funds from the Secretaries of Defense and State and the National Security Council until these articles are delivered, and supports Israel’s right to self defense.

“Today’s vote was necessary because President Biden is shamefully putting his own political interests and his re-election campaign above his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief and our national security interests when it comes to supporting our ally Israel. 

“President Biden needs to stop hamstringing Israel’s ability to defend themselves against terrorists who are trying to wipe them off the map just in order to appease radical leftists and pro-Hamas activists in his party.”
