Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) released the following statement after being selected to serve on the House Budget Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for the 118th Congress:

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity serve on both the House Budget Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees this Congress, and I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work for Hoosiers.

“Balancing the budget, confronting our out-of-control national debt, fixing our supply chain problems, and improving America’s infrastructure and transportation systems are some of country’s greatest challenges. As a member of these two committees, I look forward to working with my colleagues to being part of the solution so the next generation and beyond can achieve the American Dream.” -Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02)

“Rudy is a fantastic addition to the team that is immediately going to get to work on reining-in reckless spending and restoring fiscal responsibility in our nation’s capital.

“Rudy knows our current path of spending trillions of dollars we don’t have is irresponsible, indefensible, and bankrupting our country and our children’s future. Rudy’s small business background and real-world experience balancing budgets will be a great asset in helping us change course before it is too late. I can’t wait to work with him and all our colleagues on the Budget Committee to confront —and solve —what I believe is our country’s greatest 21st Century challenge.” -Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington

“I am excited to welcome Representative Rudy Yakym to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. I am confident he will be a valuable member of our Committee as we work to develop solutions to improve our infrastructure, strengthen transportation programs, and help alleviate ongoing energy and supply chain problems on behalf of the American people.” -Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves
