Yakym Presses Biden Budget Director on Border Crisis; Inflation and Fiscal Irresponsibility
Washington, D.C. – At a House Budget Committee hearing today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) pressed White House Director of the Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young on President Biden’s 2025 budget proposal.
At the hearing, Rep. Yakym questioned Director Young on how the President’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2025 doubles down on failed immigration policies and unsustainable spending that is fueling inflation.
“President Biden has had the highest number of border crossings in the first 37 months of any administration over the past six presidential terms.
“This border crisis is a crisis of President Biden’s own making. He created this crisis with a stroke of a pen, and he can fix it with the stroke of a pen.
“Instead of acknowledging the crisis at the border, the playbook has been to cast blame on others and downplay it. It’s the same playbook that we’ve seen with inflation. “We were told it would only be ‘temporary’ or ‘transitory.’ But Americans still feel the pain inflicted by Bidenomics wherever they turn…it will be no surprise that the top line showing the highest inflation for the last six presidential terms is indeed the Biden Administration.”
