Congressman Yakym Votes to End Federal Government’s COVID-19 Emergency Powers; Forced Vaccine Mandate for Healthcare Workers
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) released the following statement after voting for the Pandemic is Over Act, which would repeal the federal government’s Public Health Emergency for COVID-19, and the Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act, which would end President Biden’s forced vaccine mandate for healthcare workers in federally funded medical facilities:
“For months, President Biden has used COVID-19 as a pretext to increase Executive Branch powers and infringe on Americans’ personal freedoms. Now, House Republicans are saying ‘enough is enough.’
“It is long past time that this president acknowledges reality and joins the rest of America and the world in getting back to normal.”
Background:
President Biden declared back in September that “the pandemic is over.”
